Hey, You Too Can Have A Big Car…

Ugh!

Let’s face it. The driver of achievement, success and progress is a goal.

Not just ‘things.’

A real goal is long term, bigger than a house, or a million dollars. A goal that can transform someone to real greatness is not materialistic.

I am not saying that all goals are good, I am saying that the goal level necessary to greatness is bigger than materiality.

There’s a distinctly visionary quality to the goals of those who have achieved greatness.

Those that aspire to have things get just that – things and the headaches and shallow, grabbiness and solidity that goes with just having “things.”

So, it really turns me off when I hear the salesmen of various tools or tricks trying to appeal to the sense of having big cars or having a huge house or lots of money.

Of course everyone wants money and the ability to have things. But focusing your creativity and your life force on the acquisition of material things is a pretty dead end. Keepin’ up with the Joneses, will drive you ‘round the bend.

So,what’s a goal? What level of goal is needed to move you from mediocre joker to the next level?

Well, I think it’s got to be ‘theta.’ Theta in the dictionary is defined as:

“denoting electrical activity observed in the brain under certain conditions, consisting of oscillations having a frequency of 4 to 7 hertz : theta rhythm.”

I will add my 2 cents to it – theta is spiritual. We are spiritual. The body you carry around is your ID card. Not trying to go New Age here, but again, let’s be real.

The level of goal it takes to move out of your current limitations has to approximate who you really are.

You are not inherently matter. You are inherently spiritual. A goal that will lead you out of the 99% into the level of existence you seek  – including the ability to have material things of high quality – will have to be inherently spiritual.

Take Ghandi. Or visionaries like – even Steve Jobs. Steve was no angel really. But he had a star high goal to bring a new level of communication to the world.

Ghandi was ultimately more spiritual and eschewed the material – and he changed a culture and brought awareness to millions.

That is success in my book. Success isn’t defined as having money. How many ‘rich’ have destroyed themselves and left misery in their wake?

Lots.

It’s a matter of what you consider important really.

My point here is – let’s get off promoting having a big car and a big house and money and let’s get into the goal level that is a bit bigger than life and pro-survival.

Yes, if you do that, you will have the reward for your creation – money. But if that’s all you are in it for, you will be miserable.

Money never bought happiness. Happiness and ability and solving people’s problems and pushing others to higher heights brings in money.

Then you can actually enjoy those things you’ve earned.

I have been associated with people who could command large sums of money in short periods of time. But they didn’t know how to keep money they made and they never made it work for them. They looked at the client as a money source, instead of someone to help – despite what they “said.” (Whenever I hear “I am your friend” I cringe. Here we go again – that always translates into “I am your friend as long as you keep the money flowing the way I want it.”)

They squandered their earnings in sensation – indulgence of the senses and the ‘thrill’ of having money.

They did themselves in and invariably ended up poor – because they were poor! Money doesn’t make you rich. The rich know how to create and increase the energy called money.

If you want to be rich, you will need to dig in and get real and work out how to help someone solve a problem. Then the more people you can solve that problem for will determine your income. The education you gain and utilize in how money works and how to make it work, will keep you where you want to be.

And I might add, the biggest investment you can make on this road is in yourself.
