Open Letter To All Social Media Marketers

You sure you don't want to join me in this hot ground floor opportunity... pleeeze!?

You can say that this is a continuing series in the saga of my life.

I don’t want to sound too soupy here, but this is getting to be a joke. A real silly picture is  beginning to emerge here…

I am heavily on facebook as my primary marketing strategy.

I find a curious phenomena occurring – excessive pitching of business opportunities by other facebook-using marketers. Okay, if I sound like a broken record, (or a scratched CD for you GenX’ers), it’s because it won’t stop.

I get hounded daily, several times a day and I am starting to get pissed off.

When one goes to school for, let’s say, engineering, one then can see bad engineering when you were blind to it before.  A good doc can see a quack 100 yards away. A real lady can perceive a covert love ‘em and leave ‘em type – just by “feel” and I can see a guy who doesn’t understand that attraction is not a choice and that pitching is its polar opposite.

It follows the laws of how things work.

So, it’s hard for me to shut up. I got a big mouth anyway, so this is just my way of actually doing something about it and not just bitching.

New Psychiatric Classification: Obsessive Biz Op Pitching Disorder

So, you can't help it eh? Hmmm, let me see...

The Obsessive Need to Spam Every Flat Surface In Sight…

I’ve done a few posts recently on the subject of pitching one’s business to others on social media, at parties and to total strangers in shopping malls.

I’ve talked about a friend having me listen to his skillful cold calling leads from resumes on a free classified ad section. That was pretty rough.

I don’t go around looking for such stuff – it sort of hits me in the face. Like “splat!”

So, recently a conversation with a friend somehow wandered onto that subject.

My friend, Lindy Barron, called this a new disease and described it as, “that almost obsessive need to spam every flat surface in sight.”

I couldn’t take it – I was on the floor, doubled up in stitches. Dying.

I then got a bit poetic, as is my tendency. It just started to flow out of that vast literary cavern called my mind onto a microsoft word file like this…

Ann's facebook campaign is a score!

Real Life Branding and Market Creation by A Real Pro.

I spoke of attraction marketing superstar Ann Sieg in a post a couple of days ago – 15 Sept entitled “Why Women Don’t Build Pyramids And Men Stay Lost…”

She is on fire, conducting a clinic on real marketing, which means real branding with a real hot iron.

It’s like going to a Michael Jordan or a Kobe Bryant basketball camp teaching clutch performance and championship level sports.

Focus the slow motion cameras, pull out the instant replay, it’s showtime.

She is doing it all right in front of our eyes. If you have any clue what you’re looking at, there is something here to learn. Every marketer in whatever niche should take a careful look and take notes.

What is she doing?

Textbook execution of world class marketing and probably not spending a lot of money on it to boot.

What’s So Bad About A Good Pitch?

I gotta get a sign up today...

Pitching, slinging, sales and real marketing. That’s our subject for today.

Why? Because it’s risen to pandemic levels on social media. I have to bring a baseball bat when I log onto facebook.

It’s worse than Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie versus the paparazzi.

There is a fundamental principle involved in dealing with people. That principle is the essence of attraction marketing.

That principle is visible in dating – ever read David De Angelo’s excellent dating advice?

How many times have you guys met that special lady that just blew your socks off, sent you to the moon and she just went the other direction just as fast as you poured out those ever so clumsy words, pleading for her phone number?

You were head over heels in love and she walked the other way as your mouth half hung open with those half uttered emotions of “I love y… y…”

Yet, the “bad boys” always got the best looking girls?

Why Won't Men Ask For Directions?

How many of you know Ann Sieg?

She is a first class marketer who has created a marketing system that rivals the best – the Renegade Marketer.  She has written some very excellent books on network marketing and I consider her a very class act.

She has started a facebook campaign addressed to her very extensive mailing list of which I am a member.

After I let you see what I wrote her to her, I am going to give you a link to her video on facebook. It is a very, very excellent example of how to really use social media to create an attraction marketing masterpiece.

I consider correct social media marketing an asset to society.

Now, that may seem like overkill and maybe even overly sentimental, but when you are like me and every time I go online, I am bombarded with pitches and salesmen, trying to get me into their opportunity, the very stellar advice and pitchless help that Ann gives makes me melt.

Here is what I had to say to Ann on her video:
